Gene Summary

Gene Symbol
Nkx3-1

Model Description

A IRES-iCre expression cassette was knocked into the Nkx3-1 gene stop codon site. Nkx3-1 (NK3 homeobox 1) encodes prostate-specific homeodomain protein. The gene product is a key element in protecting prostate epithelial cells from DNA damage. This strain is useful for studying prostate.
Research Application:Cre recombinase tool; Prostate

Cre-mediated recombination can be detected in some cells of the prostate, brain, liver, kidney, salivary gland, stomach, thymus, colon, muscle, pancreas, brown fat, intestine and in individual cells of the spleen.
