Models

Knockouts

Knockout mouse model is a laboratory mouse in which researchers have inactivated, or "knocked out," an existing gene by deleting portions of the gene’s DNA sequence, or by replacing the gene with an altered DNA sequence. Knockout mice exhibit modifications in phenotype (observable traits) and thereby provide important clues about the function of individual genes. Mice and humans share many genes in common. Hence, information from knockout mouse models can shed light on the biological roles of specific genes as well as on the involvement of those genes in human disease.

Strain Name:C57BL/6JSmo-Grik1em1Smoc
Strain State:Embryo cryopreservation | Cat. NO.:NM-KO-190583
Research Application:This gene product belongs to the kainate family of glutamate receptors, which are composed of four subunits and function as ligand-activated ion channels.

Strain Name:C57BL/6JSmo-Grik2em1Smoc
Strain State:Sperm cryopreservation | Cat. NO.:NM-KO-190584
Research Application:This gene product belongs to the kainate family of glutamate receptors, which are composed of four subunits and function as ligand-activated ion channels.Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes.

mouse
Strain Name:C57BL/6JSmo-Grik4em1Smoc
Strain State:Embryo cryopreservation | Cat. NO.:NM-KO-190585
Research Application:This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the glutamate-gated ionic channel family. Glutamate functions as the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system through activation of ligand-gated ion channels and G protein-coupled membrane receptors. The protein encoded by this gene forms functional heteromeric kainate-preferring ionic channels with the subunits encoded by related gene family members.

Strain Name:C57BL/6JSmo-Grik5em1Smoc
Strain State:Sperm cryopreservation | Cat. NO.:NM-KO-190586
