This mouse model, which is referred to as the "osteoporotic mouse", shows a typical phenotype of osteoporosis and arterial calcification, and Therefore, this animal model is ideal for drug screening and evaluation for the treatment of "human osteoporosis", in gene therapy of osteoporosis, as well as in the research on the mechanisms of interaction between osteoclasts and osteoblasts.
