A CreERT2 expression cassette was knocked into the Etv1 gene start codon site. ETV1 expression is enriched in fast conduction tissues of embryonic and adult mammalian hearts. And ETV1 expression is upregulated in the atrial tissue of patients with permanent atrial fibrillation. Etv-CreERT2 mice can be applied to heart disease research. ETV1 is also expressed in retinal ganglion cells of adult mice, and the mouse model can be used to study how retinal ganglion cells contribute to visual processing in the brain.

Familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) is a heritable condition in which affected individuals develop benign intestinal polyps. Often, polyps progress to colorectal carcinomas later in life. The mutation of C57BL/6-Apcem1(L850X)Smoc(NM-KI-200001) strain of SMOC refers to the ApcMin model (Jax: 002020 ), a useful model to study intestinal adenomas. The C57BL/6-Apcem1(L850X)Smoc strain is highly susceptible to spontaneous intestinal adenoma formation and can be used as a research model for human FAP. These mice carry a p.L850X mutation of Apc gene.

SCID mice, or severe combined immunodeficiency mice, were first identified in 1983 by Bosma M.J. in the United States from the C.B.-17/Icr inbred strain. This condition arises from a mutation in a single recessive gene located on chromosome 16, also termed the SCID gene. SCID mice constitute an inbred homozygous line of C.B-17/IcrJ, exhibiting white coat colouration. This strain displays severe combined immunodeficiency, characterised by the absence of B-cell and T-lymphocyte function. Most homozygotes lack detectable levels of IgM, IgG1, IgG2a, IgG2b, IgG3, or IgA, and their thymus, lymph nodes, and splenic follicles contain almost no lymphocytes. However, the strain possesses normal NK cells, macrophages, and granulocytes. SCID mice are frequently used for inoculation with allogeneic or xenogeneic grafts, making them an ideal model for cell transplantation experiments.

The c-Myc gene (also known as Myc) is abnormally expressed in many tumors and plays a critical role in the regulation of cell proliferation, growth and metabolism, gene instability, stimulation of angiogenesis, malignant transformation, cell differentiation and apoptosis. These mice harbor a loxP-flanked STOP cassette preventing transcription of a CAG promoter-driven Myc oncogene. The targeted mutation was inserted into the Hipp11(H11) locus by homologous recombination. Myc is expressed when bred to mice that express Cre recombinase.
